sea urchinThere are more than 228 species of hard corals, 5 species of soft coral and over 400 species reef fish ha

ve been found in the park. The hard coral species include 33 species of Acropora sp, 9 species of Montipora sp, 7 species of Fungi sp and soft corals like Plexaurids sp (which can be seen on some of our deeper dives from the Cabanas Scuba Doo Dive Center).

Some of the safest beaches for swimming are on Pulau Sibu on the North side. Cabanas is located on a large bay with a golden sandy beach perfect for families with children due to shallow waters. Sibu is a great alternative to Pulau Tioman for excellent island beach holidays.

Activities such as Jet skiing, speed boat racing, fishing  and water skiing are prohibited within the Marine Park and carry a strict fine of RM 20,000 or imprisonment for up to 2 years. So you can feel safe in the knowledge that your holiday won't be spoilt by the noisy water activities while relaxing on the beach.

Sibu Island Cabanas takes every measure to minimise the affect the resort and its guests have on the Marine Park. We apply water saving measures throughout the resort, recycle and compost.
